3025. We installed AbanteCart e-commerce application at our website and began setting it up, for our new online shop following the closure of the one at Tripleclicks.

3036. Investigated the error produced by Acrobat Reader for the preliminary implementation of “my account statement” in the Cooperative Society module being built for FrontAccounting.

3051. Implemented Printwiser 7.56 with a new varnish-no-restriction option for book jobs, allowing specification of varnish for text sections of book category jobs, previously limited to cover. We also put finishing touches to the “my account statement” option in the Cooperative Society module.

3062. We visited Cheetah Press to commence an extended two-month free technical support period. We also began working on the loan application entry option in Cooperative Society.

3073. Worked on the loan application form, completing the first draft of coding of the major tab, remaining debugging and the next tab.

3084. Debugged the loan application form, enough to make some successful data entries.

3095. We more or less completed the two tabs on the loan application form, working on the second tab later, before beginning considering how the next and last two options would be implemented. We created a new loans summary report in MoneyBooks Payroll that included inactive people, as the user wanted.

3106. Worked on the loan approvals form for the Cooperative Society module.

3121. We uploaded the first version of the Cooperative Society module to the Demo database on the client website server. Received a call from Printwiser technical user reporting that he had to reformat the Printwiser server computer and was having issues with the Printwiser server software installation, requesting a visit. Later turned attention to Printwiser for Cheetah Press, implementing a bindery prompt table option to allow customized prompts to be set up, customizing their estimate category function and again having a look at total job time computation.

3132. Visited Cheetah Press where the main achievement was sorting out the installation issue with Sybase ASA, actually due to human error, and then installing the latest Printwiser update, having to address their reluctance to be varying ink factor during estimate entry.

3143. Resumed Labelwriter new job type implementation, reviewing the import data format emailed by the client and implementing its import into the application.

3154. Having done with importing data, we moved on to envelope label implementation in Labelwriter. Wanted to confirm from the client that—going by the import file we received—the new label format would be similar to the one for another existing job type and not the new draft they came up with last year, with no immediate response.

3165. Received email from key Labelwriter client user to the effect that the wrong data format was sent earlier so we had to suspend Labelwriter work once more. Texted MoneyBooks Payroll client about completion of their new loan report so they could come for installation then spent some time debugging the report after seeing that some figures it produced were unusually high.

3176. Revised the inactive and active people loan summary report once more so it would also include completely paid-off loans.

3180. We revised the SQL code for Printwiser, creating a calculator function for job hours, revising the general estimate calculator function to revisit direct cost calculation, implementing display of job hours on the estimate summary report as an option.

3191. Revised estimate to job conversion in Printwiser for Cheetah Press, to skip the direct-cost labor items in the bindery section, later going through the Planning module and doing some ink factor analysis from different databases. MoneyBooks Payroll user arrived for updating of their MoneyBooks installation.

3202. Wrote SQL code for Printwiser to produce an ink factor analysis report from two databases, then later researched some more online for ink calculation discussions.

3213. Completed the last two options of loan application approval and loan bond cancellation in Cooperative Society and began general revision and testing. EPPMS user reported an issue that would require our being at NRC so this was scheduled for Friday.

3224. As scheduled visit to Cheetah Press was aborted half-way on their request we headed to NRC where we restored their February backup database for use. Later carried out testing and revision work on Cooperative Society module, from member entry to loan approval.

3246. Tested and revised Cooperative Society module, new member addition, loan entry and processing and account statement reporting.

3250. Continued testing and revision of Cooperative Society, implementing two extra versions of the account statement, one for loan-specific transactions, the other for deposit-specific transactions.

3261. Completed initial programming work on the Cooperative Society module of FrontAccounting, updating the two client server databases.

3283. Visited AP to discuss the new Labelwriter job type data requirements and it became obvious we would need to redesign the data import for the new Labelwriter and also work on it during the Easter holidays for expedited delivery.

3294. At Cheetah Press we updated their Printwiser database then took them through the Planning and WIP modules once more.

3305. Resumed Labelwriter work by reading email sent by the key end user, downloading and checking the files attached, later replying the email requesting more information; went back to the programming to begin redesign of data import.

3316. Worked on Labelwriter, coding the candidate list import but without testing, redesigning the window for importing master reference data, exchanging email and sms with their senior staff on required master data formats.

Summary

Provision of post-training technical support of Printwiser for Cheetah Press Ltd continued this month, with further training and software customization. Development of the new Cooperative Society module of FrontAccounting was completed. Development of the new version of Labelwriter resumed after a long delay. MoneyBooks Payroll was upgraded, while technical support was provided for EPPMS.
