10016. Revised our code for audit trail recording so that henceforth date values will be stored in ANSI format rather than relying on the server’s default date format, to avoid ambiguity in interpreting dates like 3/1 (as March 1, or January 3). In Gerian we implemented importing of plain text files into the notes table, which means you can now select all note files in a directory and have them imported at a go.
10053. At the SFI Facebook group page we repeated a post advertizing Gerian in the morning that he didn’t approve initially, and this time Zoltan not only approved but he went along to endorse us and the program, telling members that want to try it to give a review. Finally visited EPPMS client to carry out the lighter part of the database validation.
10101. Enhanced the notes feature in Gerian, providing a toolbar icon and removing the 32,000-character limit for the body of notes. Modified MBTM to implement a change in the messaging function (when several read dialogs are open in different modules, updating one automatically closes others) and the new date format for audit trail values.
10112. Recompiled three MoneyBooks modules (GL, DM and Sales) to take advantage of recent system-wide feature changes for audit trail logging (ANSI date format), messaging (automatic closing of other open message dialogs after being read) and due-task prompting after midnight.
10123. Completed implementing a feature to automatically update exchange rates in Gerian based on a saved TripleClicks page, also touching up the online documentation since June. Implementing exchange rate update in Gerian was something we’d thought of doing seriously the past week or two. The TripleClicks website allows members to change the active currency, and all this does is to display prices in the new currency; the user is not shown the exchange rate attached to each currency. But when the TripleClicks page is saved, all the exchange rates are saved in the file, being parts of a <SELECT> tag’s <OPTION> settings. We’d noticed this months ago when we implemented the country list. We decided lately that updating the exchange rates should easily be done by reading from a saved TripleClicks page. And this was what we implemented today and it worked beautifully. We went a step further and also updated the exchange rate table used by MBEM by adding the naira exchange rate for the dollar on the date the option was taken.
10156. TripleClicks recently achieved over 6 million members from 203 countries! Do a search at TC on “hit tracking” and our very own Gerian Assistant comes up tops!
10215. Two-day introductory Printwiser Estimating training was concluded at client’s Apapa location. A new installation of Printwiser Estimating was made on a desktop there, while another system that had Printwiser working had the application upgraded from version 7.535 to version 7.54.
10241. Increased size of note heading in Gerian from 50 to 254 characters, and the body of notes from 32 KB to 64 KB.
10263. Our online store was featured at the SFI and TripleClicks websites, opening a floodgate of member connections from 6am at the rate of two to five every minute.
10274. The shower of member connections to our online shop stopped as expected at 5:59am (close to SFI’s midnight) and later when we checked we saw 1,861 connections had been made in 24 hours of our being Featured ECA of the Day, with 62 messages waiting for approval, making a total of about 100.
10296. As part of the next revision of Randomizer, we finalized SQL code to import lottery draw results into a database for analysis. Imported results between July and October.
10300. Having received a request for putting up a web-based database for recording family trees, we researched open-source genealogy software, downloading PhpGedView and installing and testing Family Connections at our website using Softaculous.
