9042. Did a critical review of Neuro Coop’s members list spreadsheet last sent by their consultant, after importing it into a SQL database table and then sent their consultant findings including members with invalid or missing membership numbers, and 183 duplicated numbers.
9064. When viewing a report page in MoneyBooks in preview mode we usually had to click Zoom In three times to have it big enough, so today we decided to triple the zoom factor in the program code from 25 to 75. Now we just zoomed once to have the page big enough; MBGL is the first module to be recompiled with this new setting and it made zooming the account statement report much faster.
9090. We modified the Spin and Win List in Randomizer to display in ascending rather than descending order by entry sequence.
9123. Made an ancestor window revision to Randomizer (and also other custom applications like MoneyBooks) after we noticed that typing a first * (asterisk) in an alphanumeric column when querying produced a validation error message.
9134. Revised the Spin and Win List in Randomizer to include the serial number of the last recorded bet on the title bar when it opens, to make it easier to recall the last bet and use the same values for the next row to be added.
9145. Our staff Victor Ogueri made a solo technical support outing, to reinstall MoneyBooks Payroll for a client at Surulere. His promotion to the position of admin/technical assistant earlier took effect from this month.
9230. To avoid the anxiety that came with watching the spinning wheel of Spin and Win, we implemented a 18-second timer on Randomizer’s Spin and Win List window, automatically activated when a new row was added. When the timer counted down to zero the user would then check the Spin and Win window to see where the wheel stopped.
9241. First technical support visit to NRC for this month was made. We restored access to databases for the five- and ten-month arrears of 33% pensioner salary increment calculated in 2014, which was lost after a system crash sometime ago. Discussed several issues to be worked on for the Payroll module of EPPMS as well.
9263. After several spreadsheet data review and corrections by the client, we set to work creating SQL code to import the Neuro Coop members data to their FrontAccounting database, most of the time taken up with reviewing and coding the department values.
9274. Spent exactly three hours uploading Neuro’s Coop members list to their server database. A couple of issues were encountered during the process, a comma that caused a syntax error in one INSERT statement in the uploading script, and after uploading, blank member names were displayed by the Cooperative Society application due to the presence of NULL values in one to three of the name columns.
9285. Started work on NRC’s data analysis and update SQL script creation, loading employee data from EPPMS and an IPPIS spreadsheet into the same database for comparison and later producing a script based on unique name matches.
9300. Modified Randomizer to make the Spin and Win List’s timer digits bigger and allow for adjusting the timer duration. Created a maximum loss ratio spreadsheet for bet amounts from ₦300 up to ₦1,650 and after filling in the minimum wins produced by the Spin and Win Advisor we arrived at an optimum bet amount and distribution that ensured that if there was no profit the same small amount would be lost regardless of where the wheel stopped spinning.
