11200. Following a report two days ago, we looked into a client’s Facebook page issue, seeing that Facebook now requested the visitor to login first and after this was done, said “This content isn’t available right now” for the page, while it opened for the client. After investigation of the issue we concluded the client must have changed some settings and now didn’t know how to revert. We later suggested they show us screenshots so we could advise on what to do.
11222. Began and completed the next version 1.3 revision of Gerian Assistant. An unusual blank product lookup list was experienced recently on the Astro Auctions List, that also crashed the application shortly, and the cause was traced to something that was not done on logging in after logging out. The issue was resolved in the revision. Query-mode related changes were implemented for several list windows. There were also several enhancements to the HIDDEN Form, like multiple pause periods and faster shortcuts during a new game, and recomputing of the game duration minutes on change of start time, stop time, or the pause period in the notes.
11233. Using Messenger, by reviewing laptop screen pictures of settings pages sent by the client that had the Facebook page issue, we successfully walked the client through resolution of the issue. It turned out the client had mistakenly activated the hide-from option (rather than show-to option) for a list of countries, under country restriction settings. This meant Facebook had to require visitors to log in so their countries could be checked against the list, before being told “This content isn’t available right now”. The simple solution was to clear the country list, so the problem didn’t happen again. At the end we could open the client’s page and the client was much relieved.
11292. Completed a review of the social media buttons for a client’s website created by us, that was begun few days earlier. This included removing buttons for unused accounts and including new buttons for Instagram and Tiktok.
